Trailer Debut: Bridesmaids (Red Band)

Girls just want to have fun (and act like guys) according to the raunchy Red Band trailer for Bridesmaids.

First of all, let’s just say we couldn’t be more excited for the upcoming Judd Apatow production, directed by Freaks and Geeks creator Paul Feig and written by SNL-fave Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo.

Still, the trailers for the flick – in which a loserish Maid of Honour (Wiig) struggles with her duties ahead of her BFF’s (Maya Rudolph) wedding – have been a little disappointing. Funny, sure. But hilarious? Not so much.

This Red Band trailer offers a better glimpse at the film’s cheekier sensibilities (including a sex scene between Wiig and Jon Hamm that certainly washes away any preconceptions you might have about how Don Draper handles himself in the bedroom).

Bridesmaids also stars Rose Byrne, Ellie Kemper, Melissa McCarthy and Wendi McLendon-Covey. It arrives in Australian cinemas June 30.
