Trailer Debut: X-Men First Class

The feature trailer for X-Men First Class has debuted online, featuring new glimpses at the young mutants as well as some action sequences from the Matthew Vaughn directed reboot.

So, a few noteworthy things here:

1) Nicholas Hoult (Beast) doesn’t have the best American accent in the world, but we already knew that.

2) Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique) is absolutely sumptuous, but we already knew that.

3) January Jones (Emma Frost) is going to walk around in her bra. A lot. But we already knew that.

4) The combined presence of James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender as Professor X and Magneto is going to inspire some of the most evocative slash fiction of all time.

What does the trailer offer that we didn’t already know? Aside from some more action, not much. But surely points 2, 3 and 4 bear repeating?

Take a look for yourself!

X-Men First Class opens in Australian cinemas June 2, 2011.

Discuss: Intrigued by this reboot yet, or still yearning for more Wolverine?

  1. Intriguing? yes. Do i like it? 50-50. Why? I have to reboot my own idea of the x-men as young teens. Will have to view this film as a stand-alone movie for it to work for me.
