Michael Cera to follow Scott Pilgrim with Magic, Magic

Michael Cera‘s kept a low profile over the past two years; perhaps he’s been allowing the public to miss his for-a-while-there-overexposed shtick, or maybe he joined the millions of comic fans around the world in their mass grieving over the box office failure of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. Or, more likely, he was just busy touring with indie band Mister Heavenly (and yes, for Cera, this is a reasonable excuse to avoid impending superstardom).

Variety reveals that Cera has ended his self-imposed exile, and has signed up for Sebastian Silva’s indie thriller Magic, Magic. The film follows a girl on vacation with her friends in Chile, who begins to lose her mental faculties.

It was reported back in February that Cera was learning Spanish for Silva’s next project.

Discuss: A change is as good as a holiday (although better than one in which you go crazy in Chile). Could Magic, Magic revitalise Cera’s career?
