Bridesmaids sequel a possibility

They say three times a bridesmaid never a bride, but director Paul Feig has discussed the possibility of a Bridesmaids sequel in an interview with Vulture.

Feig and one of his leading ladies, Melissa McCarthy, were at an after-party for Woody Allen’s new film Midnight in Paris when they were congratulated for the success of the opening weekend box office in America.

The surprise comedy hit has people chomping at the bit for a follow up, with Feig saying “Who knows? I mean, it depends how we do in the next couple weeks, but I know there’s definitely … it’s already been brought up … You just want to make sure that you do it as well as you did the first one and try to make it better, even. We’re up for the challenge.” McCarthy admits “I will show up wherever these guys tell me to go. If it’s a play in their backyard, I will gladly do it.”

Bridesmaids opens in Australia June 16th.

  1. I love the idea of a sequel, if only because the casting for this film was really top notch. Would love to have seen more of the bit players, though of course, sequels never seem to live up to their predecessors.
