The teaser trailer for Green With Envy The Muppets has debuted online, and it looks set to be an adorable romcom starring Jason Segel and Amy Adams a riotous, nostalgic throwback to the classic Muppet movies of old! Yay. YAY!
It’s not your typical teaser, that’s for sure. Disney are trying something new here, leading us to believe that we’re watching the new trailer for a breezy, clichéd love story (called Green With Envy; see fake poster above) before revealing that it is, in fact, a Muppet movie.
Anyway, enough talk. Watch!

It’s just a short glimpse, but I’m glad to see they’re playing up the overriding sweetness of Jim Henson’s creations. Sure, they’re famous for skewering and satirising Hollywood, but they always did it in the kindest of ways. This remains our most anticipated film of 2011.
The Muppets stars, well, The Muppets, as well as Jason Segel (who also penned the screenplay), Amy Adams and Chris Cooper. James Bobin (Flight of the Conchords) directs. It arrives in cinemas this December.
