Joseph Gordon-Levitt has cancer … in the new trailer for the comedy 50/50 co-starring Seth Rogen.
In the Jonathan Levine (The Wackness) directed film – originally titled I’m With Cancer and then Live With It – JoGo plays Adam, a 27-year-old radio writer who is diagnosed with a rare form of spinal cancer. Rogen plays his friend Kyle, who along with his mother (Angelica Huston) and therapist (Anna Kendrick) help Adam come to terms with his diagnosis and realise what is most important in his life.
The dramedy is based on writer Will Reiser’s real life experiences and the trailer looks to deliver the goods. From shaving Adam’s head, to trying ‘I have cancer’ as a pick up line, 50/50 seems to balance the drama and comedy showing there can be a funny side to a very serious disease.
Check it out in HD over at Apple.
50/50 hits Australian cinemas November 10.
Should Seth Rogin fear being typecast? My response is no. Its like only two movies. Since when is two of anything a trend. Especially when its a couple years between the pics. I think who ever sees this will depend on their personal experiences with cancer. Be it their own or a significant other’s. Plus whether or not the treatment was successful or wasn’t. Both Seth Rogin and Joseph Gorden Levitt are fine young actors in motion pictures.
