Screenwriter hired for The Hangover 3

So, how many more times can The Hangover‘s Phil, Stu and Ed endure an evening of such debauchery that they can’t remember a single detail the following morning? As long as their films keep making a mint at the box office! The Wrap and Tracking-board are reporting that WB has hired a screenwriter to pen a new sequel, following Part II‘s $195 million opening weekend gross.

Craig Mazin (who co-wrote The Hangover Part II with Scot Armstrong and director Todd Phillips) is about to begin work on a new instalment.

Last week Mazin told Badass Digest how he sees the saga coming to a close:

“I think the third movie ends with Doug [Justin Bartha] staring at a row of crosses in a graveyard. It’s everyone – his wife, his family is dead, everybody from the first movie is dead. Somebody shows up and tells him his dog is dead.”

Well, that would certainly be in line with Phillips “deadly serious” idea for the third film!

Discuss: Are you keen to see a third Hangover?
