Cooper gets Wordy with the ladies

Bradley Cooper is used to playing the sporty spunk in films like The Hangover. He’s also rather efficient at being a spunk in real life (he often makes ‘sexiest men alive’ lists, always has a slew of impressive girls at his side, and can apparently speak fluent French!).

What Cooper’s probably not so used to is playing a serious author, which is his role-to-be in the Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal (Tron: Legacy) scribed drama The Words. The script follows the plight of a successful writer who steals another man’s work. And according to Cinema Blend, joining our spunky author in the film will be Tron actress Olivia Wilde.

Zoe Saldana, who we recently saw in Avatar, also joins Cooper and Wilde in the film, which hits screens in 2013 and has begun shooting in Montreal.

The Words’ impressive cast already includes Jeremy Irons, Ben Barnes, John Hannah, Nora Arnezeder and Dennis Quaid, and will be the directorial debut of writers Klugman and Sternthal.

Discuss: Saying that, he played a troubled author in Limitless, so perhaps Cooper is trying to reinvent himself as the thoughtful type. Can he pull it off?
