Jim Carrey might return for Dumb and Dumber, Bruce Almighty sequels

Jim Carrey talks possible sequels to his comedy hits Dumb and Dumber and Bruce Almighty in an interview with Coming Soon.

Carrey talked up the return to two favourite characters, Lloyd Christmas and Bruce Nolan, while promoting his upcoming film, Mr Popper’s Penguins, an adaptation of a beloved picture book. “We’re talking about maybe returning to some old characters that everyone has been asking about,” said Carrey.

The talk of revisiting two of his hit films comes as no surprise as Carrey has struggled in recent years to match his previous success. Dumb and Dumber, released in 1994, and Bruce Almighty, released in 2003, marked the last of Carrey’s hit comedies, with 2009’s under seen I Love You Phillip Morris being the possible exception.

While both films have had sequels made without Carrey onboard, this latest development could mean Carrey’s Dumb and Dumber co-star Jeff Daniels might also return, which is, quite frankly, a little bit exciting.

Discuss: Would you like to see Carrey return to some of his classic characters?

  1. I’d like to see a return to dumb and dumber, and Bruce Nolan was a fun character but I can’t see that story continuing. Perhaps another Ace Ventura could be on the cards?
