The 2011 Revelation Perth International Film Festival lineup revealed!

The full program for the 2011 Revelation Perth International Film Festival has been unveiled, with a number of acclaimed features from overseas mingling with some oddball cult selections (as Revelation audiences have come to expect).

Revelation 14 will bring to Perth Kelly Reichardt’s Meek’s Cutoff, Richard Ayoade’s Submarine, Paddy Considine’s Tyrannosaur, Ben Wheatley’s Kill List, Jason Eisener’s Hobo With A Shotgun, Takeshi Kitano’s Outrage and Andre Ovredal’s Troll Hunter among many others.

A bunch of intriguing experimental projects will make their debut at the fest, including Soda_Jerk vs Tony Lawrence, a tribute to the Chicago Underground Film Festival, and an original 16mm screening of The Living Dead at the Manchester Morgue aka Let Sleeping Corpses Lie aka Don’t Open the Window aka Non si deve profanare il dei morti (we’re especially excited for that one).

As always, there will be a secret screening on July 24th, and the annual Revel-8 competition (in which filmmakers are challenged to shoot a Super 8 short film) will also take place.

Festival guests include Margaret Pomeranz and David Stratton, who will discuss the state and significance of cinema in a conversation hosted by Variety writer Richard Kuipers.

The festival kicks off on July 14 with Stevan Riley’s documentary Fire in Babylon, before closing July 24 with Alex C. Munt’s LBF.
