James Cameron talks Avatar sequels; says it’s “not really a trilogy”

James Cameron has offered Fox News some details on his upcoming Avatar sequels, revealing that the two follow-ups to his blockbuster won’t contribute to an overarching trilogy.

He told FOX411,

“We’re shooting two films back-to-back, so I’m writing two scripts, not one, which will complete a [three]-film story arc – not really a trilogy, but just an overall character arc so I’m pretty excited about that.”

We’re guessing that ‘character’ arc will involve Sam Worthington’s Jake Sully. Yay?

The tentatively titled Avatar 2 and Avatar 3 will hit cinemas December 2014 and December 2015 respectively. In the meantime, you’ll be able to “enjoy” The Biggest Movie Of All Time 3D.

Discuss: What are your thoughts on the Avatar sequels?
