Carey Mulligan heading to the Outback

Carey Mulligan is heading to Australia to star in Gary Ross‘ sci-fi thriller Outback. According to Variety, the film was written by Nissar Modi and based on a concept he devised alongside Ross.

Little else is known about the project, except that it will be produced by GK Films as well as Ross and Tobey Maguire.

Mulligan and Maguire will soon be heading to Oz to shoot Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby, so it’s likely production of Outback will follow immediately after (or, if Luhrmann keeps dragging his feet, before).

Ross, meanwhile, is now working on The Hunger Games.
