Seth Rogen is reteaming with his 50/50 director Jonathan Levine and regular collaborator Evan Goldberg for a new film titled Jamaica, based on a screenplay written by Will Reiser.
According to Variety, Reiser’s screenplay is based on a holiday he took with his grandmother to Jamaica at the age of 14. Rogen and Goldberg will produce and Levine will direct the project, which is being fast-tracked into production.
Reiser also wrote 50/50 (formerly titled Live With It), about his personal experiences with cancer. The dramedy stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt in the lead, with Rogen as his best buddy. The flick has garnered some nice buzz ahead of its late-2011 release, no doubt contributing to Mandate’s decision to fast-track production on Jamaica.
50/50 arrives in Australian cinemas November 10, 2011.
