Trailer Debut: Jack and Jill

The trailer for Adam Sandler‘s latest comedy, Jack and Jill, has debuted online. It stars Sandler as family man Jack AND as his obnoxious sister Jill, who outstays her welcome during the holidays. Hijinks presumably ensue.

I’ll admit I have a soft spot for Sandler, who has made plenty of films with horrifyingly trite premises at least somewhat entertaining. To his credit, the idea of him playing twin brother and sister sounds a lot worse than it looks in the trailer. He doesn’t seem to be mugging as outrageously as Eddie Murphy did in Norbit, although that is faint praise indeed.

That being said, there are some truly cringe-worthy moments here, least of all a scene involving a flattened pony.

Check it out and share your thoughts below.

It wouldn’t be a trailer for an Adam Sandler movie if it didn’t feature ELO on the soundtrack.

Jack and Jill also stars Katie Holmes and Al Pacino, and is directed by Dennis Dugan. It arrives in Australia December 1, 2011.
