International trailer for The Adventures of Tintin shows off more footage

The first teaser trailer for The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn was light on footage, and we feared that the picture’s risky motion-captured animation was being hidden from us. A new international trailer has landed online, with plenty more footage (and the added bonus of characters talking), and it has temporarily soothed our fears of the film being a dead-eyed extravaganza.

Directed by Steven Spielberg, produced by Peter Jackson and co-written by Edgar WrightThe Secret of the Unicorn stars Jamie Bell as reporter Tintin, Andy Serkis as his cohort Captain Haddock, Daniel Craig as villainous Red Rackham and Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as detectives Thompson and Thompson.

Peter Jackson will helm the sequel Prisoners of the Sun. Although he and Spielberg had hoped to make a third film – with Edgar Wright rumoured to helm – nervous studio heads have stemmed the already-ambitious project to merely two features.

In the meantime, The Secret of the Unicorn arrives in Australian cinemas December 26, 2011.
