Mad Men, Boardwalk Empire and Modern Family have dominated the nominations for the 2011 Emmy Awards, picking up 19, 18 and 17 noms respectively. Saturday Night Live proved its staying power by garnering 16 nods, with Game of Thrones and 30 Rock nabbing 13 a piece.
The 60’s set Mad Men will compete against Boardwalk Empire, Dexter, Friday Night Lights, Game of Thrones and The Good Wife for Outstanding Drama Series. The prize has gone to Mad Men three years running.
Modern Family, meanwhile, is up against The Big Bang Theory, Glee, The Office, Parks and Recreation and 30 Rock for Outstanding Comedy Series.
