Lars von Trier, always one to avoid controversy, is set to follow up Melancholia with a new film entitled Nymphomaniac.
According to Screen Daily, the film will focus on “the erotic life of a woman from the age of zero to the age of 50.”
The logline was revealed by von Trier’s producer Peter Aalbæk Jensen, who also shared that the picture will begin shooting in 2012.
By the way, if you’re concerned about the graphic sexual content of a film that follows – we repeat – “the erotic life of a woman from the age of zero to the age of 50”, don’t panic. Lars plans on shooting both a softcore and a hardcore cut of the film. Variety is the spice of life!
