Justin Lin talks Terminator 5 with Arnold Schwarzenegger and James Cameron

More news on the development of a new Terminator flick. Director Justin Lin (Fast Five) told The Playlist that he had met with star Arnold Schwarzenegger and Terminator 1 & 2 director James Cameron to discuss the upcoming project.

Back in April it was revealed that Lin and Schwarzenegger were shopping a Terminator 5 package to studios, and it was promptly snapped up despite the hefty price tag. The project was put on hold following revelations regarding Schwarzenegger’s personal life. However, now that Arnie has officially begun working on The Last Stand, development of the new Terminator flick seems back on track.

Here’s what Lin had to say about meeting with the original creative heads behind the franchise:

“Just even this week, I had a great meeting with Arnold and James Cameron, just sitting down unofficially. And James is so gracious because he’s not part of the project, he’s not going to be producing, but it was great of him just as a filmmaker to take time out to just talk.”

Although Terminator 5 is on the horizon for Lin, he’ll next go to work on Fast and Furious 6, due in cinemas May 2013.

Discuss: Glad to see this project building up steam?
