Poster and Trailer Debut: Drive

Start your engines Gosling fans. A new poster and trailer for Nicolas Winding Refn’s high octane drama Drive have been released.

Slashfilm wisely points out the possibility of overhyping this punchy film – which we caught at the Melbourne International Film Festival – but it deserves all of the praise being heaped on it. Drive tells of a Hollywood stunt driver who plays getaway driver to various robberies after hours until one job goes horribly wrong.

The poster plays up the 1980s style font, the hammy tagline (‘Some heroes are real)’ and shows Ryan Gosling looking a little Lloyd Dobler-like, complete with racing gloves.

Check out the Green Band full length trailer (which is rather spoilery) and share your thoughts below!

You can watch it in HD over at Apple.

Drive also stars Carey Mulligan, Albert Brooks, Bryan Cranston, Ron Perlman and Oscar Isaac. It arrives in Australian cinemas October 27.

Discuss: Will Drive pull in the Fast and Furious crowds?
