A sequel to 2010’s sleeper hit The Last Exorcism is in the works, making a liar out of the person who christened the film with such finality.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the producers of the original have recruited writer Damien Chazelle to pen a follow-up to the horror comedy.
The film told the story of a preacher who hires a documentary film crew to reveal to the world the fakery employed by so-called exorcists as a means of exploiting the naive. However, on his final gig before quitting for good, he meets a young woman who may actually have a demon living inside her.
Produced on a budget of $1.6 million, the feature grossed more than $62 million worldwide.
