Wolverine 2 delayed once again

20th Century Fox have again delayed the start of production on The Wolverine, the sequel to the 2009 Hugh Jackman film, Deadline reports.

Fox have said that they never committed to a start date to begin with but were looking at late 2011. It seems that may now become early to mid 2012, though Fox aren’t dedicated to that either.

The Christopher McQuarrie screenplay takes place predominantly in Japan, though it’s unknown whether filming will take place there or in a substitute location such as Canada, with weather conditions being the primary concern.

The Wolverine has already seen director Darren Aronofsky abandon the project back in March, with James Mangold only signing on in June.

It’s thought production won’t begin until star Jackman finishes filming Les Miserables, and though the sequel has hit nothing but bumps in the road since being announced, Fox is adamant that they are dedicated to this film.

Discuss: Are you still eager to see Jackman don the adamantium claws once again?
