The Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts has wasted no time in preparing for its first ever awards ceremony in January, announcing the nominees for Best Feature Length Documentary, Best Short Animation and Best Short Fiction Film.
In an effort to align itself with the United States’ Academy Awards and the United Kingdom’s BAFTAs, the Australian Film Institute ditched the AFI awards in favour of the new AACTAs. Here are the first flicks to score an AACTA nom:
