Ed Helms to play gangster/pimp in remake of Le Mac

Ed Helms is on the precipice of comedy stardom having featured in box office juggernauts The Hangover and The Hangover Part II, and is about enjoy more attention on The Office now that Steve Carell has vacated the manager’s seat.

He’s no doubt keen, however, to show off his range. Variety reports he has signed on to star in and produce a remake of the 2010 French comedy Le Mac, in which he will play a banker who is forced to pose as a gangster and pimp.

Yep, that should do it!

Ben Stiller‘s Red Hour Films and MRC are teaming up for the project.

Discuss: Can you see Helms breaking out of the ‘straight-laced nice guy’ type with Le Mac?
