We adored the spoof trailers for The Muppets that arrived online earlier in the year, which politely skewered romantic comedies, The Hangover Part II and Green Lantern respectively.
Now comes a brand new spoofery, in which the energetic, elliptical teaser for David Fincher’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo gets the Muppet treatment.
In the original Dragon teaser, we’re treated to a series of intense images set to the strains of Karen O and Trent Reznor’s cover of Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song. As is noted in this new trailer, The Muppets couldn’t get the rights to that track. We think you’ll be pleased with the alternative.
Without much further ado, The Pig With The Froggy Tattoo.
This new trailer is also notable for spilling a bunch of celebrity cameo. We spotted Neil Patrick Harris, Sarah Silverman and Rico Rodriguez (Manny from Modern Family). Any we missed?
The Muppets also stars The Muppets (of course), as well as Jason Segel, Amy Adams and Chris Cooper. James Bobin (Flight of the Conchords) directs. It arrives in Australian cinemas January 5, 2012.
