Source Code evolving into TV show

A television series based on Duncan Jones‘ sci-fi thriller Source Code is being developed by ABC studios in the United States.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series will take the premise of the movie and turn it into a TV procedural, in which former federal agents “jump into the consciousness of people involved in tragic events” each week.

Jones revealed on Twitter that he is not involved in the project:

“For those asking, I know not a sausage about the Source Code TV show. First time I heard about it was about 20 minutes ago… on twitter! … Wishing the Source Code TV show the best of Irish. Im gonna keep on trucking with film number 3. ;-)”

Mark Gordon (Criminal Minds, Grey’s Anatomy) will produce. Don’t expect stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Vera Farmiga, Jeffrey Wright or Michelle Monaghan to reprise their roles.

Discuss: It’s worth noting the similarities between Source Code and the much-loved Scott Bakula series Quantum Leap. If that show worked, maybe there is hope for this new project. Thoughts?
