The trailer for Jonathan Teplitzky’s Burning Man has debuted online, and apart from highlighting the MA rating this film is sure to have, it doesn’t explain much about the plot.
Burning Man stars Matthew Goode as Tom, an English chef working at a restaurant in Bondi. After a tragedy, Tom adopts a reckless attitude towards life that sees six different women – along with Tom’s eight-year-old son Oscar (Jack Heanly) – attempt to save him from himself.

The semi-autobiographical film was recently screened at the Toronto International Film Festival and has been described as a father and son’s journey back to happiness. The fragments shown in the trailer – small pieces of a larger story – mirror the structure of the film’s narrative as Tom pieces together what has brought him to this state of mind.
The film also stars Bojana Novakovic, Rachel Griffiths, Essie Davis and Kerry Fox. It arrives in Australian cinemas October 27, 2011.
