Kurt Russell is in talks to replace Kevin Costner as a sadistic slave-driver in Quentin Tarantino‘s Django Unchained, reports The Wrap.
It was revealed last month that Costner could no longer play the villainous Ace Woody – offsider to Leo DiCaprio‘s antagonist Calvin Candie – due to scheduling conflicts.
Russell previously starred in Tarantino’s Death Proof.
Jamie Foxx stars as the eponymous hero in the flick; an escaped slave who, with the help of his mentor (Christoph Waltz), tries to free his wife from Calvin and Ace.
Django Unchained hits Australian cinemas January 2013.
Ah, I’m torn. I was really interested in seeing Costner in a Tarantino movie, hoping that it would breathe some life into him, but I love Kurt Russell and I think he’ll do a great job. Can’t wait for this one, it’s gonna be a long year.
HAve to agree! But I got to admit, Russel looks set to pull it off too… seriously… but then Russell can be Too seriously and it could spoil it… an interesting one for the villain pundits.
