Trailer Debut: My Week With Marilyn

See the first moving images of Michelle Williams as screen starlet Marilyn Monroe in the newly released trailer for My Week With Marilyn.

The Simon Curtis film is based on Colin Clark’s memoirs The Prince, the Showgirl, and Me: Six Months on Set with Marilyn and Olivier. Clark was employed by Sir Laurence Olivier on the British set of 1965’s The Prince and the Showgirl, and spent a week with Olivier’s co-star Monroe, showing her the sights and helping her escape from the pressures of her high-profile existence.

No doubt The Weinstein Company will make a big push for two-time Oscar nominee Williams to take home the Best Actress prize with this performance.

The cast includes Kenneth Branagh as Laurence Olivier, Eddie Redmayneas Colin Clark, Julia Ormond as Vivien Leigh, Judi Dench as Dame Sybil Thorndike, Dominic Cooper as famed Monroe photographer Milton Greene, Dougray Scott as playwright (and Monroe’s husband) Arthur Miller, and Emma Watson.

My Week With Marilyn opens in the U.S. on November 4, 2011, with an Australian release to follow.

Discuss: Does Williams make a convincing Monroe?
