Jim Carrey has been offered a role opposite his former Bruce Almighty co-star Steve Carell in the comedy Burt Wonderstone, The Wrap reports.
Carell has long been attached to the project, in which he will star as the eponymous Las Vegas magician who must defeat a rival magic-maker following the death of his assistant.
Studio New Line wants Carrey to play Burt’s rival.
Oscar nominee Jason Reitman – of Up in the Air and Juno fame – penned the most recent version of the script, while 30 Rock veteran Don Scardino is set to direct.
