Iron Man 3 will lead to Avengers 2

Marvel president Kevin Feige revealed at New York Comic Con over the weekend that Iron Man 3 would potentially kick off “phase two of this … saga that will culminate, God willing, in Avengers 2“.

This is hardly a surprise considering the web-spinning Marvel has done between their individual projects so far. The prospect of Avengers 2 always seemed like a sure thing (and that was before the trailer for the first film was downloaded 10 million times within 24 hours last week).

Still, it’s interesting to think of Iron Man 3 as something of a ‘fresh start’ for the new batch of Marvel movies.

Iron Man 3 – directed by Shane Black – arrives in cinemas May 2013. It will be followed by Thor 2 in November 2013.
