Up-and-coming actor Oscar Isaac has landed the lead role in the upcoming Coen brothers’ film, Inside Llewyn Davis, Deadline reports.
Currently without US domestic distribution, the new Joel and Ethan Coen film centres on the folk music scene in 1960s’ Greenwich Village.
Written by the brothers, and co-produced by Scott Rudin (No Country For Old Men), Studio Canal will distribute the film in France and several additional territories with no further distribution currently reported.
As with the Coens’ past projects, a host of Hollywood names are reportedly lining up to be a part of the film. Characters will be loosely based on real life folk singers including Dave Van Ronk and Tom Paxton.
Isaac was last seen in Nicolas Winding Refn’s Drive alongside Ryan Gosling and will next appear in the Tony-Gilroy directed The Bourne Legacy.
