Mickey Rourke out of Expendables 2

So, not every over-the-hill action star will make an appearance in The Expendables 2.

Deadline has revealed Mickey Rourke will not reprise his role from the first Expendables movie, citing a scheduling conflict with his new project (although, they suggest Rourke’s proposed paycheck was not tantalising enough, and the actor is looking for more award-worthy fare).

He will instead star in Martin McDonagh‘s (In Bruges) upcoming picture Seven Psychopaths, opposite Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell and Christopher Walken.

Fear not though; there is still plenty of beefcake to take up space in Simon West‘s Expendables 2, including Sylvester Stallone, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis, Chuck Norris, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Liam Hemsworth and Randy Couture.
