Everyone’s favourite ingénue Carey Mulligan has just scored two major roles. She is set to star alongside Oscar Isaac in the Coen brothers’ newie Inside Llewyn Davis, and will also appear in Spike Jonze and Charlie Kaufman’s upcoming – and untitled – collaboration, Variety reports.
The new Joel and Ethan Coen film centres on the folk music scene in 1960s’ Greenwich Village, and will be loosely based on the life of folk singer Dave Van Ronk. Although it’s unknown if Mulligan will sing in the film, she has reportedly shown off her talents as a night-club performer in Shame (she also guested on a Belle and Sebastian song late last year).
Little is known about the Jonze/Kaufman collab, other than it involves “world leaders uniting to discuss cataclysmic events”. She will appear opposite Joaquin Phoenix.
