Aaron Sorkin sought-after for Steve Jobs biopic

Well, we could have told you this was going to happen. 24 Frames reports Sony Pictures are moving forward with their planned biopic on the life of late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, and they want their Oscar-winning Social Network scribe Aaron Sorkin to write the script.

Sony purchased the rights to Walter Isaacson’s book Steve Jobs mere days after the technology titan’s death. Soon after, in what could possibly be considered an audition for this very gig, Sorkin took to the web to blog about his relationship with the man, and how he turned down an opportunity to write a Pixar film for him.

Sorkin is reportedly mulling over the opportunity to bring Jobs’ life to the big screen.

Discuss: Is this ground he already covered with his founding-of-Facebook flick The Social Network? Or does it merely mean he is the perfect man for the job(s)?

  1. Well, the themes would be ones he loves exploring – the desire to be exceptional, human beings with a deep passion about something – but I think it would be very different from The Social Network. I’ve seen somene tweet that Bradley Whitford would make a good Steve Jobs – and since Aaron likes working with Brad, there’s a glimmer of hope there too…
