News from the Hunger Games camp has been fairly quiet since the water-torture like casting announcements earlier this year. Now, Lionsgate have released eight character posters showing off profiles that excite, but alas, don’t show a great deal. Still, we’re happy to see something new!
Apart from Katniss, Gale and Peeta (who we’ve seen in promo photos previously), the posters give us our first glimpse of Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket, Woody Harrelson as the drunkard Haymitch Abernathy, and Lenny Kravitz as Cinna.
The first thought that comes to mind is ‘PhotoShop’. This of course works for the majority of characters (Effie, with her pop of colour and over the top eye shadow in particular). However, we’re still not convinced of Harrelson as Haymitch; his poster seems too polished for his character. We’re hoping it’s not too long until we’re given some footage of him in action!

Gary Ross‘ The Hunger Games arrives in cinemas March 2012. Its sequel, Catching Fire, is already slated for November 2013.
