Anthony LaPaglia joins Tarantino’s Django Unchained

Anthony LaPaglia has joined the cast of Quentin Tarantino‘s upcoming spaghetti-western Django Unchained.

According to Deadline, LaPaglia will play the leader of an Australian gang. Bizarrely, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is set to appear as his brother.

It was revealed last week that JoGo was eyeing the flick, but the nature of his role was unknown. Here’s hoping he does the accent justice!

Jamie Foxx stars as the eponymous lead character; a slave who is freed by Christoph Waltz’s German bounty hunter. The pair team up to rescue Django’s wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington) from her captors, plantation owner Calvin Candie (Leonardo Di Caprio) and his right-hand man Ace Woody (Kurt Russell). Samuel L. Jackson is also a part of the cast.

Django Unchained hits Australian cinemas January 2013.

Discuss: Glad to see an Aussie presence in the film?
