Amanda Seyfried has been cast as adult film actress Linda Lovelace in an upcoming biopic on the life of the Deep Throat star.
According to Deadline, Peter Sarsgaard is in negotiations to play Lovelace’s husband/pornographer Chuck Traynor (James Franco was previously considered).
Kate Hudson was first offered the role, but had to walk away because of her pregnancy. Olivia Wilde had been in talks with Oscar winning directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman (The Life and Times of Harvey Milk, Howl) for the part, but it seems she was pipped by her In Time co-star Seyfried.
The script is based on Eric Danville’s book The Complete Linda Lovelace. Shooting begins in January.
Lovelace completists can also look forward to her other biopic, Inferno, starring Malin Akerman (who replaced Lindsay Lohan). It does not yet have a release date.

Ridiculous casting. Is she going to belt out “I had a dream” at any moment? She won’t be believable in this role. Bad career move.
