Tarsem’s Snow White renamed Mirror, Mirror

Relativity Media’s untitled Snow White project finally has a title. Slashfilm confirms the Tarsem Singh directed film will be called Mirror, Mirror.

Many comparisons have been made between Singh’s take on the classic Snow White story (starring Lily Collins) and Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman (starring Kristen Stewart) also currently in production.

Singh told Movieline his retelling is aimed more at children.

“They asked me if I wanted to make it edgy and I said, ‘No interest, absolutely no interest’. It’s a children’s movie, but my stuff tends to be polarising. When it’s for children, it’s like, sickeningly kiddie, and when it’s the other way, it’s sickeningly graphic for people. Both are okay for me. It’s comme ci comme ça that I’m terrified of.”

Singh’s film also stars Armie Hammer as Prince Andrew, Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen, Sean Bean and Nathan Lane.

Mirror, Mirror is set to be released in the States in March 2012, with an Australian release to be confirmed.

  1. Mirror Mirror? They are aware there is a Snow White based book called Mirror Mirror? Should we be comparing it to the book now?
