Goodbye horses, hello NBC! The US network is working on a new hour-long series based on the legendary cannibalistic character Hannibal Lecter.
According to Deadline, Hannibal will be written and executive produced by Bryan Fuller (Pushing Daisies). If NBC like his script, they will immediately order a 13-episode series, skipping the pilot stage completely.
Hannibal Lecter was created by author Thomas Harris in his series of horror novels and played by Brian Cox in the first big screen adaptation Manhunter. Anthony Hopkins made the character iconic with his Oscar winning performance in The Silence of the Lambs, which he followed with the sequel Hannibal and the Manhunter remakeRed Dragon.
Discuss: Would you like to see this creepy character on your small screen?
