See Jacki Weaver as Bradley Cooper’s mum in The Silver Linings Playbook

The first images from David O. Russell‘s follow-up to The Fighter, The Silver Linings Playbook, have arrived online. The snaps – collected by Collider at the AFM – give us our first glimpse of Oscar nominated Aussie Jacki Weaver as Bradley Cooper‘s mother.

Cooper’s character – Pat Peoples – is a former high school teacher who has recently been released from an institution where he was being treated for depression. Now being cared for by his mother, his attempts to win back his ex-wife prove futile, and he instead strikes up a friendship with an eccentric neighbour (Jennifer Lawrence).

The Silver Linings Playbook also stars Chris Tucker and Robert De Niro.

This isn’t Weaver’s only big international project. She will also be seen in the Nicolas Stoller comedy Five Year Engagement opposite Jason Segel and Emily Blunt, as well as Park Chan-wook‘s English-language debut Stoker, starring fellow Aussies Nicole Kidman and Mia Wasikowska.
