Aussie Jason Clarke is the first actor cast in Kathryn Bigelow‘s upcoming flick Kill Bin Laden, Deadline reports.
Joel Edgerton was previously announced as one of the film’s Osama-hunters, but it now seems his busy shooting schedule (which includes the 300 spin-off Battle of Artemisia) has forced him to abandon the project.
Tom Hardy, Jennifer Ehle, Idris Elba, Rooney Mara and Nina Arianda are also in consideration for roles in the controversial pic.
Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker) has scripted the film, which documents a team of commandos’ attempts to assassinate the Al Qaeda leader, concluding with the Navy SEALS successful completion of the assignment.
