Trailer Debut: The Iron Lady

The trailer for the Maggie Thatcher biopic The Iron Lady – starring Meryl Streep – has debuted online, and it looks set to be the funniest, wackiest Richard Curtis comedy yet!

OK, it’s not a comedy, nor is it directed by Richard Curtis. However, this first glimpse of the Phyllida Lloyd-helmed film suggests a crossing between The King’s Speech and Love, Actually.

The Iron Lady hits Australian cinemas December 26, 2011.

Discuss: Streep is surely a lock for an Oscar nomination. Is the rest of the picture too similar to last year’s winner The King’s Speech to be a contender?
