Charlotte Gainsbourg really must be a glutton for punishment. After bearing all (literally and figuratively) in Lars von Trier‘s Antichrist and Melancholia, the actress is set to reunite with the Danish provocateur for his upcoming film Nymphomaniac.
According to Variety, Gainsbourg is in talks to star in the pic, which is set to film mid-2012.
As has been previously reported, the film will focus on “the erotic life of a woman from the age of zero to the age of 50.” Lars plans on shooting both a softcore and a hardcore cut of the film. I know what you’re thinking: ‘Lars can produce a softcore cut of his films??!’ We’re as amazed as you are.
Frequent Von Trier collaborator Stellan Skarsgard is already set to appear in the flick. He told E! News how he was courted for the part:
“Lars called and said ‘my next film will be a porno, I want you to play the lead’.”
We are, obviously, incredibly intrigued.
