Production on Alex Proyas‘ epic action film Paradise Lost has been halted by Legendary Pictures due to its fluctuating budget.
The NSW-based shoot, set to generate 1300 local jobs, has a projected price tag of $120 million.
However, Deadline claims that budget has since been exceed by “10 or 15%”, and production won’t begin again until that figure can be reworked.
Bradley Cooper is set to star as the archangel Lucifer, who is at war with the archangel Michael (Ben Walker). Djimon Hounsou will appear as Abdiel, the angel of death, while Casey Affleck has been cast as God’s messenger, Gabriel. It is unknown if these actors will remain in their roles due to the delay in shooting.
