The trailer for Adam Shankman‘s adaptation of the Broadway jukebox musical Rock of Ages has arrived online. See: Tom Cruise as rocker Stacee Jaxx signing breasts; Malin Akerman as a buttoned-down music journalist turned sex-vixen; Catherine Zeta-Jones‘ screeching, right-wing, ‘think of the children’ mum decrying rock and roll. This thing could be kind of fun.
It helps that the cast also includes Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand, Paul Giamatti, and Footloose‘s Julianne Hough.
The film takes place in late 80s Los Angeles, and features the music of Def Leppard, Foreigner, Journey, and Poison. I think we heard some Starship in that trailer too (although they probably don’t want to advertise it too heavily).
