Eva Green in talks for 300: Battle of Artemisia

Former Bond girl Eva Green is in talks to star in the 300 prequel Battle of Artemisia.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Green would play Artemisia herself, “a ruthless, gold-covered goddess who persuades Xerxes to amass his army and helps lead them into battle”.

Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures are still looking for an actor to take on the lead male role of Themosticles, “the famed archon and general who led the greeks to victory against the invading Persians in 480 BCE’. Joel Edgerton passed on the part back in November.

Noam Murro is set to direct. Production begins early 2012.

Discuss: Glad to see Vesper Lynd take the throne?

  1. Green does that fierce stare so well. She’d be able to convince any army to do her bidding. Edgerton passed on a role in this? What’s going to be this movie’s equivalent cry of “Spaaartaaa!”
