Finally, a bit of luck for the seemingly cursed reboot of The Crow.
According to Deadline, the Weinstein Company (who distributed Alex Proyas‘ original) have dropped their lawsuit against Relativity Media and will commence working together on the film “as planned”. Everybody’s friends again!
Bob and Harvey Weinstein sued Relativity for shopping the international distribution rights for the reboot, despite their claim to a contract “signed by everybody” which promised them said rights. Relativity’s Ryan Kavanaugh did not have kind words for the Weinsteins in return.
But that’s all over now, and the two studios are back to work on the project.
Problem is, since the suit was first announced last April, they’ve lost two directors (Juan Carlos Fresnadillo and Stephen Norrington) and one star (Bradley Cooper).
So, good luck with that!
