Ben Stiller has signed on to star in, direct, and executive produce the new series All Talk for HBO, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The comedy is written by Jonathan Safran Foer (Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Everything is Illuminated) and has Alan Alda tipped to star opposite Stiller.
The series follows a Jewish family in Washington DC and is said to be “politically, religiously, culturally, intellectually and sexually irreverent” as it covers both daily and life-altering dramas.
Stiller will be joined by Foer, Scott Rudin, and Eli Bush as executive producers – with Rudin and Stiller having worked together previously on Zoolander and The Royal Tenenbaums. Rudin is also shepherding the TV adaption of Jonathan Franzen’s novel The Corrections for HBO.
Stiller will next be seen in Neighborhood Watch and is attempting to get his remake of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty off the ground.
