Nicolas Cage wants to play a ghost in Wicker Man sequel

History’s greatest actor gamely submitted to a webchat with Empire readers ahead of the release of Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, during which he was asked if there were any characters he would like to revisit.

Awesomely, he answered thus:

“I would like to hook up with one of the great Japanese filmmakers, like the master that made Ringu, and I would like to take The Wicker Man to Japan, except this time he’s a ghost.”

Though Empire note his “half a smile and wryness” upon answering the question, it’s fun to fantasise about the suggested premise of Wicker Man 2.
