Patton Oswalt to join Stiller and Wiig in Walter Mitty

Comedian Patton Oswalt came very close to nabbing an Oscar nomination for his excellent work in Young Adult. Although he missed out on the accolade (and even after he was snubbed for his voice-work in Ratatouille!), his career is still enjoying a well-deserved bump.

According to Variety, Oswalt is in negotiations to join Ben Stiller and Kristen Wiig in the long-gestating remake of the 1947 film The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.

Stiller will play the eponymous Mitty, a daydreamer and photo developer who embarks on an adventure to find a missing negative. Wiig is set to play his dream-girl, while Oswalt is in talks to star as a counselor at eHarmony who helps Mitty create an online dating profile.

Stiller is also set to direct the pic.

Discuss: Should Oswalt have scored an Oscar nom?
